Teacher
From preschool through adulthood, I've taught many movement styles through performing arts. I've helped adults with fitness dance to middle and high school students with various aspects of movement for actors. For an understanding of my teaching philosophy, check out my Arts in Education page.

Theatre/Performing Arts Courses
As a classroom theater teacher, I taught subjects like acting, script analysis, tech theatre, and their greatest tools as performers: movement and voice. Here are a few of my students practicing monologues and pantomimes exploring new approaches to acting.
Elementary School
This piece is called "La Bamba", a simplified variation of a folk dance found in Mexico. I have visited various elementary schools to teach cultural dance. Many have also enjoyed movement concepts and making choices through creative movement classes. Most of these classes took place in Utah, but there were a few in New York as well.
Preschool
This class was a mix format between dance and creative movement. There were two of us teachers for each class. We used inspiration from children's stories, basic technique, and a lot of imagination. This was our end-of-the-year concert number.
Kinnect
During my time at Brigham Young University (BYU), I was part of an amazing outreach group called "Kinnect". We did educational dance concerts, followed by time in the classroom, teaching dance and creative movement to various elementary school classrooms. Creative movement is not only about moving your body, but about making choices, using your imagination, investing in and owning your performance. It is a perfect avenue for younger groups to learn performance principles. I have used it to teach movement, but also help them make connections with other concepts: math, science, english, etc.
